I am writing below a story which has got an important lesson to be learned in life.
Just Enjoy it.
Once upon a time there was a King who lived with his wife and Son. King had all facilities and amenities at his palace which a person cannot even dream in his whole life. In spite of all lavish facilities and great money king & his wife were down to earth kind of personalities. His Son too was very bright in studies and was obedient to his parents but was little impatient. King and his wife always fulfilled the demand of their Son. They used to call him prince with love. Prince had completed his school from the royal school in his palace itself. After his schooling Prince got admission in the prestigious college in king’s province. King was very happy for his child getting admission in one of the best colleges and that too based on merit and not by his being Prince. King gifted an expensive sports bike to his Son for convenience in going to college. Prince was very happy and was doing well in his graduation exams.
One day while coming from college to palace Prince saw a sports car in a showroom. Prince was moved away by that car and instantly a feeling of having that car born in his heart. He came home and asked for that car. As usual King agreed for the car but this time he kept a condition in front of Prince that if he scores highest in University then only he would get that car. Prince too agreed with the condition and started studying hard than before.
Days passed, Exams got finished and day of result came. Prince stood first in University with record breaking marks. Prince was very happy as he got those marks with hard work and he was feeling proud for same. He was also happy as his dream car was just few minutes away from him. While returning to home he made a thought inside his mind that the car would be ready at home as his dad would be having confidence on his son. When he reached he searched garage located in front and back part of the palace but didn’t found any car. Seeing this he was bit annoyed and angry but he made his mind that may be his father would be waiting for the result and after that they would go for his dream car.
He went to his father and showed him the result proudly as if he has won a great battle. Looking at the result King was impressed and greeted him by saying "Good Job Son". Son impatiently asked where is my gift which I was supposed to get as per the deal. King replied to his Son that he remembers the deal and said don’t worry. King said his Son to wait while he comes from inside. Son again made perception that father would have kept car somewhere and will give him surprise or he has gone inside to be ready to go to the showroom to purchase the car. King came outside his room with a box and gave it to his son. Son was not in a mood to have anything except the car. So as if it in a denial mood he asked, "What is this father, I asked for the Car and you are giving me this box" What kind of joke is this? King kindly said, just open my child, don’t be so much impatient, Son opened the box and found a holy book on which it was written Congratulations Son, discover your dream inside. Looking at the book temper of Prince was building very high, he just busted on his father like he was denied for the car. He threw away the box and decided there itself to leave the home and his family and packed his luggage and went away from the palace.
“All this happened was just because of wrong perception and impatience.”
Being a Prince Bravery and Courage were running in his blood, he went away and through his caliber established his own empire. He purchased all things which he desired in his life. He married to beautiful girl and was enjoying his life.
One day while he was recalling his past memories he felt like he had done great mistake in his life and he was missing his home. He instantly called his father for apologizing for what happened. Ring was ringing, ringing and call was attended by the worker working in palace. Worker immediately recognized voice of Prince and greeted him. Prince asked him to give the phone to his father or mother who is available, Worker replied that your father and mother missed you very much, they searched you every possible place they thought you would have gone but were not able to find you anywhere and finally they died before few years. They were very eager to meet you once before they close their eyes. Hearing this Prince was shocked and for a few seconds all his senses went blanked. After that he cried a lot and went to his old home.
“Sometimes all that we can do after a mistake is just blame ourselves and regret for it. Sometimes mistakes can’t even be resolved and we pay heavy price for it.”
When Prince reached palace he was shocked as all the things were at the same place, in same order as that when he left home. He noticed that palace was kept in same way as it was many years back when he left it. He went to his room and saw the box which he threw away and cried. He thought for a while that if he would have controlled his anger and would have been patient he would have not missed this heaven.
He went near the table and opened the box and removed the book which was still shining.
He was thinking that what was there inside this book that his father gave him instead of car? Is the value of this book more than that car? To discover what his father wanted to give to me he opened the book he found it to be holy bible. He flipped the pages and to his surprise he found a key in between the pages which resembled to be of car. He was shocked looking at the key. Recalling his past he found that in the race of owing that car being impatient he forgot to check his own room’s backyard. He went there and to his surprise the Car was there with same color, tag and greeted ribbon unwrapped. He cried so much but all in vain.
Whatever he was, either a Prince or a normal human, all he could do was cry as louder as he can but he could not change the past.
So finally from this heart touching story I can conclude that Prince was impatient and he lost everything which was precious just because of not being able to wait for the right time.
What was the mistake of King? All he wanted was to make his son get values, knowledge along with the gift. That’s what our parents also try to impart in us through the lessons. Maybe sometimes we accept and sometime we get annoyed, but whatever they do is for our good, our own benefit.
So never ever disagree with your parents or any elders. They will never every try to think anything bad for you. So is the God as we are child of one god and he loves his every child and that’s why every child is special.
It’s very true in our real life too. We are impatient and we give up at the moment from where we are just a single step away from our dream and if we walk that single step ahead, success is ours.
Moreover it is very well said that "No one has got more than his fate and before the right time." Looking more spiritual it’s also true that God has decided well in advance what we are going to achieve and at what time subject to right amount of hard work and dedication without which nothing is possible. We forget this fact and run behind the things which we don’t possess and finally in vain we always cry for those things which we don’t have and forget to cherish moments which god has given us to enjoy.
Thus friends enjoy life as it comes. Be Patient, Work hard and enjoy all small moments. For others it may be small, but for you it may be whole world.
I am not that matured to come to conclusion. I am still in my learning phase and just wrote this. This lesson I got from Brahma Kumari Vishwa Vidyalaya which is an institution headquartered at Mt. Abu.
May be I am making a mistake or going in a right path. But moral of the story is BE POSITIVE and BE PATIENT. May be if we are not getting what we want in life, time has not arrived for the fruit we want to get ripe. Wait for the right time and enjoy the taste of sweet nectar of patience.
